The great backcountry huts of New Zealand are more than just refuges from bad weather, or a place rest and recover when you're out exploring the outdoors. Each of these magnificent places of shelter have been part of thousands of different adventures holding stories for thousands of different people.  The little red huts symbolise adventure, gathering and friendship. A glimpse of how small man is against the magnificence of nature.
