COLLECTION

Bathans Close up.JPG

This collection of miniature landscapes was inspired by the five week lockdown period due to the COVID-19 pandemic; a wanting to offer small affordable slices of peace for everyone in these uncertain times.

At the end of March of this year, each New Zealander was given the precious gift of time. To be allowed the opportunity to slow down and return to a more simple way of being without guilt. To appreciate the small things that fill our lives that we are often too busy to feel grateful for.

I spent a lot of time outside through this period, looking at the beautiful mountains that surround our area. It was the first time since I was a kid that I really looked at the mountains and felt truely grateful to be here. There has always been time to look and appreciate our beautiful surroundings. They offer so much for no cost but for some reason I forgot.

This series is an appreciation for everything we have. New Zealand is such an incredible country, a sanctuary. I have taken this pandemic as a chance to become reacquainted with it. To enjoy it, explore it, and to begin to learn the colours of it. A small slice of peace to hang in your home and serve as a reminder.
